The Novita function at the Rezz hotel

The novita function was held at the rezz hotel on the weekend that just passed. It was a great day with my masterchef friends and guests. Here we have a link to see the menu for the day: The menu for the Rezz function

My French cooking class at Linden Park Junior Primary School

Recently i held a french cooking class at Linden Park primary school. I spoke about ingredents that went into dishes and judged what they cooked.

Each class cooked the following:
Reception – Chocolate Mousse
Year 1 – Rataoullie
Year 2 – Quiche Lorraine

It was great to see children and parents so involved in cooking and the knowledge they all knew about french cooking and general cooking. Many thanks to Sue Swanson also. It was a fantastic day and i loved it.

MasterChefs Contestants Cook for Children’s Charity

Iconic Adelaide Hills winery Bird in Hand will host five MasterChef Australia contestants to raise money for Novita Children’s Services on Friday 22^nd October.

Budding chefs Alvin Quah, Jonathan Daddia, Claire Winton Burn, Marion Grasby and Adele Frangito will share their experience on the Channel 10 hit reality show while they prepare a stunning selection of canapés.

Guests will be treated to a canapé degustation; elegant Bird in Hand wines will be carefully matched to the food by the winemaking team who will guide guests through food and wine matching tips.

All proceeds will be donated to Novita Children’s Services, towards Adele’s Creative Kitchen for Kids. A further $5 from every bottle of wine sold on the special order form will also be donated to the charity.

“I want to teach children with disadvantages and intellectual disabilities how to cook simple, good, nutritious food that gives them confidence and self worth,” Ms Fragnito says.

The fundraising event further illustrates Bird in Hand’s commitment to contributing to the wellbeing of the community.

Cabaret – held at Novita (Elvis Presely night)

Platters for 100 made up of different cheeses and smallgoods all donated by the generosity of local businesses including:

• Maggie Beer
• La Casa Del Formaggio
• Festival City Wines (Don Totino) and Primo Smallgoods
• Illalangi supplied oils and dukkah.
• Coles Supermarkets

A sweets platter made up of greek sweets was made by Kendia (83329368)

The night was a great success with all proceeds going to Novita.

Jenny’s 60th Birthday dinner for 14

Jenny is a long standing client of mine and she asked me to do her 60th birthday when i came out of masterchef.

She requested a four course dinner and she was celiac (gluten intolerence) which meant the menu had to adapted to suit her needs.

It was a great night and everyone enjoyed my italian menu for the party.

Upcoming with the Rezz

On the 22nd of August there will be a luncheon held at the Rezz hotel – Hamilton Street, Newton.

Skye and I will be cooking up a storm with some of the Top 50 from Masterchef. Attending will be Nicollete, Claude, Richard and Andrea with a special guest appearance form Marian to schmooooze with the guests.

We will be cooking a four course dinner which includes:

• Mozarella Zeppoli and Potato and Ricotta proscuito slice
• Layered eggplant and roasted vegetable goat cheese stack
• Quail and Polenta
• Crostolli and Tiramisu

All foods and wines have been donated by businesses in the community. Shingleback Wines donating all of the wines with the meals on the day.

As part of the event, there will be a raffle including prizes donated by Keith Bowden Electrical, Wines and Cheese boards by local businesses and many more.

There will be music, dancing and a fun relaxed atmosphere.
